subject is a concept
difficult to define such
as “risk” or “ethics,” or
one with too obvious a
visual solution such as
“reimbursement.” The
title may prominently
use “profile,” meaning
a report rather than a
face, or be a much-
imaged idea such as
“American.” In these
cases, typography can
produce memorable
solutions, possibly
unavailable through
any other medium.
