A playwrights festival
differs from a play
festival in that the plays
are read, not performed,
are often still in develop-
ment, and the sets and
costumes haven’t yet
been developed. There
weren’t any visuals to
work with and all nine
plays were unknown.
We decided that a large
thirteen would draw
attention and the names
of the plays would draw
the audience.
