Spirtus is an all-men’s
chorus based in New
York City. Their music
is devotional, but not
exclusively Christian.
Their musical roots
extend to Europe’s
Middle Ages through
Gregorian chants, but
their repertoire includes
music from later
centuries in both Europe
and Asia. The flower
motif references both
the Christian rosette
found in churches
throughout Europe, and
the chrysanthemum
which appears in many
Asian cultures.
